Hitachi 20gb Hddss Bin: How to Restore Your Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Another problem that exists is that a Seagate hard drive only allows 8 character serial numbers, and most of the available hddss.bin files freely available on the net are dumped from Hitachi drives. These drives have serial numbers that are up to 15 characters. Since this is the case, there is no way to successfully spoof the drive into looking like a Hitachi. The only real solution is to use an hddss.bin file that has been dumped from an official Seagate drive.

Hitachi 20gb Hddss Bin

i am gonna try with my 80gb sata i will post the result when i am finished . as noobie i tried changing the serial number in hddss.bin to match my drive i injected it to the hdd sectors 16-22 created the partitions 0,2 using HxD and even injected the partition 2 files xplorer360 recognized my drive but my xbox didnt. i was wondering is the 256bit RSA code below the model number hddss.bin has to do anything with the detection ? please explainthanks in advance .

hi i have succeeded in changing the serial number and model number of my 3.5in 320GB drive it detected perfectly now i have to do the LBA and Firmware rev and im gonna need a segate 320GB hddss.bin to use the entire 320gig i will keep you posted and i got the serial command list for all the levels so i will see if i can dump the entire firmware.

Check out this website. I forgot to post it when I was working on this initially, but it explains very well (In my eyes anyways) how to calculate the LBA of the hard drive you are working with. It will be different for each one, but you can delve into the hddss.bin file you are working with, and calculate which values you need to change it to on your drive.

If you tell me what you have done so far, maybe i can help. One problem I see is that even if we do get this to work somehow, you will be limited to a 250gb partition on your drive. I am unable to find an hddss.bin file from a 320gb Seagate drive, and that would be necessary to get the full size.

I have a new 320gb drive for my laptop in a usb enclosure. i cloned my old 60gb drive to the 320gb. now the 320gb drive shows only 54gb. now this sounds like just the utility i need but can anyone tell me how I connect my laptop drive to a pc?

If it reports you to manually remove from devise manager, go into devise manager and remove drivers there. Or do as i did and close program and reopen and click on devise again. It removed it for me. And yes it really works!! Thank you!! I recovered a 120gb and 320gb westeren digital both reported 32gb

Hello. Keeya. I would reset the cmos(bios) to your motherboard. You will fund battery under the mother board that looks like a watch battery. Take it out carefully without damaging the battery holder. Leave battery out for 5 min. I would than get a new zif to lif ribbon for 1.8 pata drive. Ebay sellers are selling these for samsung and hitachi drives. Again, read the description carefully. You want a zif to lif cable for hitachi or samsung 1.8 pata drive. Once you get the new cable insert it carefully into the motherboard and the opposite side pata drive. If computer does not recognize, try flippon the cable over on the pata drive and try agin. It might take a few tries but shoild work. Resetting the cmos might help so try doing this first than trying the new cables. If you need a cable I can send u one since I have some left. I ordered from ebay and they came from Hong Kong in about a week. Hope this helps.

I added a 1.8 Pata Hdd 20gb but it seems Aspire one is not detecting it ! i put back the ssd and its also not detecting lol ! im not sure where i went wrong yet !I was wondering there was something on the original ssd cable just something around the cable. what is it ?

Tried installing a Hitachi 20gb 1.8 hard drive the my aspire one but I get no power to the hard drive. Anyone know if the cable needs to be flipped? where is pin 1 on the board? I see pin on on the hard drive, but I see nothing on the board.

Btw I did the mod and it works great. If anyone needs a hitachi flip zif cable then send an email to doomsbuggy@aol.com and we could negotiate something if u got paypal. Its alot quicker than ordering from china

The drive seemed to failing read test around 80GB mark. Formatting was also not happening.Removed the hdd, removed label sticker and the top cover, ran speed test. USB 2.0, the drive head nearly touched the spindle around 80GB mark. Single platter/head. The speed dropped abruptly and speed was jumping up and down after 60 to 70gb mark around 10MBps.The sticker also came off easily and was fixed back perfectly. No sign that it had been opened. HDD sentinal shows it as hitachi but label is seagate.yes, i have been duped thank you. Question is can i use this as a 60gb or 80gb drive??I read the drive capacity restores to actual capacity when formatting if the edits were in some table. But i dont thinks thats my case. Thanks in advance. From my search i have concluded it to be a hitachi but dont know what size or if i can reflash to the original firmware / drive flash. what a waste of 80$.The error scan shows 0 bad sectors upto 80gb and it has 99% health. So was thinking i could use it for some purpose; even a 60gb would suffice.Attachments: File comment: the pcbIMG_20171015_104251 (Large).jpg [ 406.71 KiB Viewed 18517 times ]Top jetuaime81 Post subject: Re: Fake hdd drive; 80gb as 2TBPosted: October 15th, 2017, 1:26 Joined: October 14th, 2017, 16:02Posts: 6Location: indiafzabkar wrote:Edit: OK, so it's an 80GB Hitachi pretending to be a 2TB Seagate and identifying as a 2TB Hitachi. =9333&i=1ok thats great you found out. is there anyway i can get it to be identified as that drive?Top jetuaime81 Post subject: Re: Fake hdd drive; 80gb as 2TBPosted: October 15th, 2017, 11:43 Joined: October 14th, 2017, 16:02Posts: 6Location: indiafzabkar wrote:Could we see the PCB?Edit: OK, so it's an 80GB Hitachi pretending to be a 2TB Seagate and identifying as a 2TB Hitachi. =9333&i=1pic of the bottom side attached. And yes that seems to be the drive. I havent touched anything inside though.- Yes, it can be done. With (expensive) firmware tools it would be easy to restore the drive to it's initial (native) capacity. This assuming of course that the drive itself (heads, platter, etc were still in good condition and the drive wasn't opened at all).- Once the top cover is opened the drive shouldn't ever be re-used. The only exception is if the top cover is opened inside a laminar flow workbench or clean/aseptic room - class 100 - to filter dust particles and even so the drive should only be used to recover the data inside of it to another drive. Even if you open the drive on a HEPA 100 filtered air condition the drive shouldn't be re-used._________________1Q9xrDTzTddUXeJAFRn37aqh1Yr6buDCdw - (Bitcoin Donations)paypal.me/Spildit - (PayPal Donations)The HDD Oracle - Platform for OPEN research on Data Recovery.Top Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Page 1 of 1 [ 18 posts ] Main Forums home Software and hardware tools 2ff7e9595c
